1. Information We Collect

Bitcoin News Office collects very limited information:

Contact Form Submissions

If you choose to contact us via our contact form, the following information is collected by our form processor (Formspree):

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your message content
• The subject category you select

This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your email address with any third parties.

Briefing and Alert Sign-ups

If you expressly sign up for Bitcoin News Office briefings or unusual-signal alerts, Netlify Forms processes your email address, consent selection and the page where you subscribed. We use that information only to operate the requested email service, measure sign-up sources and manage unsubscribes. We do not sell or rent subscriber information.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, our analytics and advertising partners may automatically collect:

• IP address (anonymised where possible)
• Browser type and version
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring website (how you found us)
• General geographic location (country/city level)

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• No user accounts or passwords — there is no login or registration system
• No financial data — we never ask for or store bank details, credit card numbers, or crypto wallet private keys
• No personal tracking profiles — we do not build individual user profiles for targeting
• No unsolicited email — briefing and alert emails are only for people who expressly request them, with an unsubscribe option
• No data selling — we never sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties

Cookies

Bitcoin News Office itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, our third-party analytics and advertising partners may set cookies in your browser:

• Google Analytics — uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking cookies may affect the functionality of some third-party features.

Local Storage (Browser)

We use your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser and is never sent to any server:

• Currency preference — your chosen display currency (USD, GBP, or EUR)
• Whale watch list — which whale wallets you've chosen to monitor for notifications
• Ad dismiss state — whether you've closed the sticky ad banner (session only)

You can clear this data at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings (Clear Site Data).

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Tag ID: G-YEHV5XFMX8) to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve content and identify which tools and pages are most useful.

Google Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data such as page views, session duration, and traffic sources. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual users.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by:

• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on
• Using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts (e.g., uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger)
• Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings

5. Advertising

Bitcoin News Office does not currently load a third-party advertising network. Any future advertising provider will be reviewed before activation and this policy will be updated before its scripts are enabled.

6. Third-Party APIs & Services

Our tools and data displays fetch information from public APIs. These requests are made directly from your browser (client-side) — data does not pass through our servers, as we have no backend server.

APIs Used

• CoinGecko API — cryptocurrency price data, market caps, and historical prices. CoinGecko Privacy Policy
• mempool.space API — Bitcoin blockchain data, whale wallet balances, transaction info. mempool.space About
• Coinbase API — fallback BTC price data
• Binance API — fallback BTC price data
• Formspree — processes contact form submissions. Formspree Privacy Policy

When your browser makes requests to these APIs, the API providers may log your IP address according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over data collected by these third-party services.

7. Wallet Tools & Key Generation

The Paper Wallet Generator and Wallet Simulator tools:

• Generate keys using your browser's built-in cryptographic functions
• Do not send any generated keys over the network
• Do not store any wallet data on our servers (we have no servers)
• Run entirely offline once the page has loaded

For maximum security when generating paper wallets, we recommend disconnecting from the internet after the page loads and using a private/incognito browser window.

8. Data Security

Bitcoin News Office is served over HTTPS, ensuring that data transferred between your browser and our site is encrypted in transit.

As a static website with no backend database, there is no centralised store of user data that could be breached. The only data we process is contact form submissions handled by Formspree, which uses industry-standard encryption and security practices.

9. Children's Privacy

Bitcoin News Office is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
